She Remembered Caterpillars is a puzzle game where you have bridges and gates that are all color coded as well as characters you control that are color coded. Characters can blend together to form other colors (ie blue+yellow =green) and you can change colors of a character later on. You can only cross a bridge if your character is the same color or at least partially the same color (so blue can cross a blue bridge but green can also cross a blue bridge to get a yellow character across.) Gates work the opposite way, you cannot cross a gate if you are the same color. The goal is to have each character you control standing on each finish point of each map. Those are not color coded so you have to figure out how to get each character there. The game is quite challenging, especially the later levels. Oddly enough, there were some later levels that I found incredibly easy and solved them in a minute while there were others that I was completely stumped on. I'm not sure if I just got lucky or what. The game is definitely great at making you think and you have to get creative. Not know what color needs to be where to complete each level can really throw you for a loop. Some that I had a lot of trouble with, I was too focus on getting on character to what I thought would be their obvious final destination but after playing around, I figured it was not. The game is about 4 hours long, achievements are super easy to get to perfect the game once you do complete it. If you enjoy puzzle games, I'd recommend it, but if you're not a puzzle fan, just skip this one, it's not the game for you.. Fun and challenging but not too difficult. Beautiful environment and great audio, definitely recommended for puzzle lovers.. Fun puzzles, good looks.. I was lucky enough to see this at PAX East and it intrigued me to demo it. After actualy purchasing the game and starting to run through it, I'm glad to say that it has exceeded the already high hopes I had for it when initially test playing it. I love the music and the simplicity of the mechanics combined with the complexity of the puzzles. Would highly recommend for anyone that enjoys puzzle games.. Fun, challenging, original and beautiful. If you have ever enjoyed a puzzle game before then this is an easy recommendation. The levels are expertly designed resulting in a smooth difficulty curve like no other puzzle game I've played.. Entertaining and engaging puzzles presented with a nice, relaxing soundtrack and cute graphics. 40 levels. Got the game and finished it the same day in about ~3 hours. If you like puzzle games and this one's on sale I highly recommend it.. Regardless of my opinion, don't forget that there is a free demo on the Steam store page. She Remembered Caterpillars certainly has beautiful artwork, tight puzzle mechanics, and enough content to merit the small asking price. I just didn't fall in love with it. Deb did, which is why we bought it. So I guess you have +1 and -1 coming from our camp. It's a rub.Again, try the demo.Pros:+Beautiful artwork+Tight puzzle rules and executionCons:-I don't like the flat backgrounds mixed with (what appears to be) animated/3D caterpillars-Yes, the puzzles are difficult, but I just didn't feel compelled by the whole thing-I am horribly color blind, and I think the whole mix of bright and sharp colors can be a bit hard on my eyes (maybe it's not a color blind thing, but it's worth mentioning)What can I say - this one just isn't my jam.. She Remembered Caterpillars has a simple premise: Bring the little hooded guys to the white mushroom platforms. But of course the path has obstacles - which are bridges and doors that have to have the right colour to get past them. You can even mix those colours to have more options - and obstacles ;)I really love this idea, as they make genius puzzles that never get too complicated. But you have to think out of the box many times.A perfectly designed little puzzle game with a very nice soundtrack (make sure to get the soundtrack if you love electronic music) and impressive hand-drawn levels that will make you feel smarter. I highly recommend this game to every puzzle game lover!. Writing a review coz I nominated this game to my own steam award "A Precious small adventure" !I recommend this game! The art style is lovely, charming; the puzzles are well thought and the color mechanic is very clever! Just when you get used to how simple it is at the beginning it soon becomes more complex and complex as you progress with the addition of new obstacles, mechanics and colors! It is a small game of 8 Acts and a total of 40 puzzles; Took me 5 hours to beat in around one week, getting stuck in multiple puzzles for a while. But still I found this adventure to be worth it and enjoyable! The soundtrack is very relaxing although some areas can get a bit dark.Thumbs up!
